Commodore Plus/4 released in 1984 wasn't a success like C64 but... as for the release times has some very interesting ideas: ROM integrated software, faster CPU, 4x faster FDD, more colors for graphics, new Basic v.3.5 carrying new commands (and less bugs), small and relatively modern form factor when compared to C64 "bread bin", ZX Stectrum and Atari 800XL prevailing these times... Anyway software incompatibility with C64 was the hugest mistake among many smaller ones like ridiculous design's hardware incompatibility (joysticks, dattasette etc...). But one thing was common for both Plus/4 and C64 universes - the same PSU design. "Brick of death" - the most common Commodore failure cause ever. We know it and thanks to our continuous educating mission, most of Commodore users are aware of this fact already. That's good!

Our replacement Plus/4 PSU is modern power supply unit for Commodore Plus/4 computers. Provides stable filtered 5VDC (up to 4.0A!) by industrial grade AC/DC power supply and full 9VAC (1,11A max) provided by classic heavy duty linear transformer unit. It is all integrated into small enclosure and dimensions similar to the original Commodore PSU. Durable, professionally molded enclosure assures good air ventilation, mechanical protection and electrical isolation. The unique 4-pin square DIN pug is made especially for this PSU model as it's not available on the market anymore and that's why some of  users decided to convert Plus/4 power socket to DIN7 same as in C64 as it's more convenient... but I personally prefer to keep the main unit original ;)

Protection & Adjustment hardware feature is offering the basic 5VDC voltage fine tuning feature in safe limited range of 4.9-5.3 VDC (readings for Plus/4 connected as a reference load). Now you can set the exact 5VDC for your system as due to the ageing and variety of modern peripherals available nowadays, the current draw and voltage drop on the cable (and on/off switch) is different for each particular Commodore system. At lease the basic voltage adjustment is the great option when switching from C64C to C64 "berad bin", Plus/4 or C128 with use of special adapters (As each of these units requires slightly different currents and voltages).
